The Windscale Inception – behind the scene pt.2
The interview with Syranic about their incredible EP “The Windscale Inception” pt.2
Q: I would love to hear about the rest of the songs from the EP "Windscale Inception". Could you introduce each song of them for the metalheads in the world who are interested in your music and want to listen to the whole EP?
Julian: Phew Kumi… you know me, the songs always have a deeper meaning - this will take time but I'll do my very best ;)
1.Endless Open End
I guess I explained that quite well in your first question ;)
2.Trans[c]ience
Transcience is a song which was inspired by mainly 4 bands: Strapping Young Lad, Meshuggah, Gorgoroth and our friends from Under the Pledge of Secrecy. The Chorus is something special, I dreamed it exactly in the way as you can hear it on our EP… the groove, the vocallines and so on. The Lyrics are inspired by Markus Bischof from Heaven Shall Burn, I listened a lot to Heaven Shall Burn during writing this song and I wanted to do something similar. In first case I wanted to sound as brutal as him (don't know whether I made it) and I wanted to get the same deeper meaning of social conflicts and aspects of religion in the lyrics.
The Lyrics are about bigotry, false moral, vanity, compliance, dogmatism and many more bad aspects of humankind. Aspects which lead to mostly all problems we have in our world, violence, rape, war, pollution, murdering of humans and animals - all bad aspects of humanity. I believe that all these behaviours are caused mainly by the fear to die and this leads to the point of being afraid to be meaningless. Power and force are the tools to go down into history and mostly all people we know since more than thousands of years are known for their unlimited use of violence and ruthlessness. Moral and ethics are just a weapon to hide what we really are, a mental menace, a threat to everything surrounding us hiding behind a mask of imagined characteristics which let us look like something better which we're truly not.
Just look at all monotheistic religions we have nowadays and you will get the point, made up to do good but they brought unbelievable violence, terror and destruction. Transcience is the science about transience and the deepest questions we have: Why is the world the way it is?
3.Nemesis
Well this is a much more simple one :D. The song is about the destruction of nature and our mother earth, which is mainly caused by a simple fact. There are just too much people on this spaceship called earth and we eat it all. I love this planet and I think it is the best thing which happened in the whole universe, that is why I am often angry about the things we do and about the disrespect we have for this planet. It is not just a piece of rock with some freaking trees, birds and mammals, it is a miracle which is worth fighting for - more than for my fucking iPhone… you don't think so? Okay let's fight motherfucker!
4. The Mindscale Inception
This song is about the horrible feeling to be depressed and the rage you feel when you see no way out. Always a good thing to write about and really personal - open your heart and let hope reign despair! Get into it and think for yourself if you don't want to headbang and need some chilling times with your headphones.
5. Death Facility One
Our freakiest song with a lot of complicated rhythms. It is about the Lake Karatschai in Russia, the most polluted place on earth. The russians wanted the nuclear bomb so badly that they just put all their nuclear garbage of a Plutonium Facility for Nuclear warheads straight into the next river which ends in this lake. They lead the river directly through the core and back into the river - they really didn't cared at all! Today you definitely die if you stand more than 30 Minutes close to this lake and moreover it is connected to a riversystem which leads north to the polarsea. Scientists believe that it is possible that this connection might end in a nuclear pollution of the whole polar sea - an unbelievable disaster and all just caused by the addiction to the ultimate Overkill. "Damn the USA got the bomb, hurry we need to catch up" What a bunch of idiots! The sample you can hear in the beginning is combined of a documentary about Chernobyl, the first real SuperGau and something I still remember, it was horrible!
Q: The whole EP is absolutely incredible, I mean it's not only about the great songs but also about the awesome sound production with overwhelming instruments and vocals. I think many indie bands present themselves with a flimsy sound, but yor music is totally different from that. How did you dedicate your massive effort for the sound production as a producer and as an engineer for making such an amazing EP?
Hendrik: Personally I think that a good production is one key element of metal and rock as important as any instrument could ever be. And the importance of that element goes beyond genres. For instance if your band is playing some really sophisticated stuff you need some good mixing to bring out all the details. But maybe even more importantly if your style is all about rhythm and unisono massiveness like ours you really need a massive sound to go with it. The riffs and chords themselves alone won't ever tell you the idea behind songs like that.
For »The Windscale Inception« I took that approach to the extreme. I would say my influences for this production were mainly Gojira and Periphery, but in the end it all made for some insane Strapping Young Lad-like apocalpyse sound. And I think that nothing else could have fit better to the meaning of those songs. Also I put a shitload of ear-candy everywhere. There are just so many subtle additional guitars, choirs, strings and synthesizers you wouldn't even know were there, but you would still miss if they were gone.
Hendrik: As a producer I do keep my trademark effects and sounds throughout all my productions, but still I always strive to give every album the one single sound it needs. None two of my productions ever sound the same. Of course when it comes to multiple releases for one band I will keep the new sound in the same category as the old one, but I sort of dislike the way many metal producers have their one and only sound for everyone. I always want every one of my bands to have a distinct sonic identity.

Q: Could you give some message to your music listeners in Japan?
The Band: Life, Love and all the best for your future. We all heard about the horrible Tsnunami and Fukushima and we're still shocked! Much love and respect to Japan, you are all in our hearts and we are with you! The Metal brotherhood never let you down!

TASTE OF EXTREME METAL ~ “Discreation” by My Decadence
I present this round as a music taster blog TASTE OF EXTREME METAL featuring the thrash-like death/metalcore band My Decadence with killer twin-vocals - shouts and growls! I chose the opening tune “Discreation” from their EP “How To Forget”, so, let’s start playing the taster below and check it out the message from Roman the growl-vox and guitars of the band!
My Decadence “Discreation”
If you want to listen to the song with more greater sound, click the link below and play the audio file Discreation - My Decadence
Roman: "Discreation" is the first track of our "How To Forget"-EP and was written during the main songwriting-period of the EP. This track deals with a very controversial kind of science: reproductive cloning and it's fatal consequences. The track is still one of our favorite ones, especially to play live. It's a very intense and atmospheric experience, because of the unique dark vibe that’s created by it. Mmh, we think that this song deserves a sequel... maybe on our next Album?
Discreation
cry!
can you hear them cry
The newborn sons of my creation
The incarnation of progress
herald’s salvation
salvation
behold the truth of our new gods
all that once was sacred
is now obsolete
breeding our new saviours
in vitro
banish all that was sacred
it’s all now obsolete
we’re breeding our new saviors
in vitro they shall thrive
now we have finally climbed the throne
[…]with our creator
nothing left for us to pray for
there’s nothing left for us to pray for
and so the axe is bound to fall
and now the axe is bound to fall
the cult of progress takes its toll
we shall never be our own creator
the sin of dissecration
won’t be left unattoned
so retribution is coming
and we will be dethroned
hear them cry
our new saviors
hear them cry
for we shall never be
our own creator
the lord he gave and took away
so what is left to separate
reach out for divinity
for I will be my own creator
I will be my own creator
But what is left to seperate
the lord he gave and took away
so what is left to separate
reach out for divinity
for I will be my own creator
what is left to?
what is left to?
what is left to separate
be my own
be my own creator
and now the axe is bound to fall
My Decadence “How To Forget”
progress takes its toll
we shall never be our own creator
the sin of dissecration
won’t be left unattoned
so retribution is coming
and we will be dethroned

The gears of Parasite Inc.
I’m very glad to release this blog that I finally materialized this idea- “The gears of the metal bands ~ Show me your stuff ! “ with Kai (vocals, guitars) and Benni (drums) from Parasite Inc.. They introduced me their lovely stuff. So, check it out!
Kai: Hey guys, Benni and I have been asked a few times about the equipment that we use. So here it is a small introduction of it. To create all the noises I ordinary only use my Jackson USA RR1 Rhoads. It's a Neck-Through-Body guitar with 22 frets and a original Floyd Rose for the more weird sounds and effects. Originally it was armed with a Seymour Duncan JB-TB4 humbucker on the bridge and a Seymour Duncan Jazz-SH2N on the neck but I replaced both with Seymour Duncan Blackouts a few years ago.
Kai: To give that guitar the right sound I am using a rack unit with the following parts: For power supply I use a cheap Samson Powerstrip PS10. Below it, there's the Rocktron Xpression for a bit EQing and for noise reduction and finally the sound is done by an Engl E 530 preamp in combination with a Peavey 60/60 power-amp. About the Engl I can tell you that it is maybe the best tube preamp you can get for that money - especially compared to other tube preamps.
Kai: Well, that's all about my stuff :).
Benni: I'm playing a Mapex Orion kit (which really was a bargain on Ebay - one of the best deals I've ever made).
Benni: It's a rather small drum-set with 8/10/12/14" toms and a 20" bass-drum - but it has quite an impressive deep sound. My snare is a 14" Mapex Black Panther Kung-Fu snare, which can be incredible loud. Almost too loud! And those words are coming from a drummer :-) In fact we had a gig once where the mixing engineer forgot to add the snare mic and nobody did even notice it!
Benni: I'm using Mapex hardware and I'm playing a Pearl Demon Drive double pedal. The bassdrum is trigged by a ddrum trigger and a Roland TD3 module (Oh, and nooo, triggers won't make you faster, they simply allow you to play with less effort ;-). I'm quite a cymbal fan, using them a lot in my playing. And I especially likes splash cymbals. My current setup is 14" hihat, 16" crash, 18" crash, 20" ride, 8" and 10" splashes, 18" china - all Zultan cymbals made of B20 bronce - and a 9" bell. That’s all.

Endless Open End
I opened my mind, found a beast inside
I tripped out to hell and I died in the
Inner space of mine! I’ve only fucked the truth
Buried my lost soul - buried it in filthSo you hate it
Though you loved it
Though you loved it, ahh
Though you loved it, ahhStoked the fears with fear, lost myself in tears
Fought but lost the war, all I felt within
My skull oh it burned, (the) fucking trip it turned
(into) an endless open end, endless open end!Help me like always
Come into my world
Oh come to my worldNo one ever knew how trapped I have been
Darkness killed the kid, killed the rest of sense
I freaked out on hate - paralized by shadesI still bleed inside, hedonism it kills
Ahh, hedonism kills, hedonism
Ahh, hedonism kills, hedonism killsHelp me like always
Come into my world
An endless open endWe adore it, the killing, reprogramming
Of our mind fucked up souls
It is dying, the bleeding
Of the perception making us go-o-o-odsSo you loved it, though you hate it
So you hate it, though you loved it
Though you loved it, ahhHelp me like always
Come into my world
“The Windscale Inception” behind the scene pt.I
Q: "Endless Open End" is a totally killer tune as starting kick-ass intro. Could you tell us about the sound and the lyrics of the song? Do you have any special episode about the song?
Julian: The lyrics of Endless Open End are about the destructive feelings you have inside if you are deeply down. I wrote this song as a hateful statement after some really bad experiences and gave it a philosophical touch.
Julian: I believe that destructive feelings kill the child in everyone of us, you become a freak and totally disrespect everything you were and what you might become. You can hear that in one special part of the lyrics: "We adore it, the killing, reprogramming our mind fucked up souls it is dying, the bleeding of the perception making us gods".
Julian: I believe that the party societies of our time formed a mankind that adores self-destruction as a kind of modern "pursuit of happiness". The victim is our real consci- ousness, our perception, which makes us what we really are - a mixture of animals and godlike creatures with the reward to reflect and realize what we really are. Hate destroys this ability and brings us closer to the inner abyss. Call it heaven, call it hell… it is all just the same description of 0 and 1, good and bad. To say in Master Yodas words: "Fear is the way to the dark side".
Julian: The funny aspect of "Endless Open End " is that some parts are inspired by blues legend Tom Waits. I wanted to do that and Hendrik just gave me a megaphone and said "Go ahead you ugly Bastard". I did that with every single inch of my body - blues rules and Tom is legendary!
You can check it out how he screams in the EP… haha :D

Soulbound Introduction of the band members
Okay let’s go back on May, I had an interview with the band and they introduced themselves to all metalheads in the world about their musical history and more with some funny snap shots.
Johnny: Vocals / Shouts
Felix:Let's start with our frontman.Johnny is our singer and shouter, but let us listen to his angle-like voice.
Johnny: My career as a musician started when I was 4 years old. Back then I was a professional baby-food-can-thrasher! This extremely successful career - of course - continued... I started playing the piano and the trumpet. I also learned classical- and pop-rock-singing and passed a choral director education. The first three bands I was in were called Dreaded Dream, Oceanmachine and last but not least: Supermaniax, a pop-rock-project. Since then, I wanted to be on stage, always, 24/7!
But I've never thought about being the guy who makes a fool of himself in the front of the stage. I wanted to be there where Mario is sitting now, behind a friggin' drum-set! But honestly? I'm pretty happy with being who I am now, entertaining the crowd, giving the energy to them that I'm achieving by makin' music with those awesome people who I'm lucky to call my friends and band members:-)! The thing that keeps me going is thenergy that we invest into this band, which we're getting from the audience at our concerts and of course which we're giving back to them as well! We want people to take a positive message back home from our gigs, we want to make them to feel an emotion when listening to our music, cause that's what music
is about!
Felix:Lead Guitar
Johnny:Let's go on with our buddy Felix, the catering-killer! When his jaw muscles aren't busy with chewing OUR food and he hasn't got a big yellow building-site helmet on his head, he's playing the lead guitar for Soulbound. Let's listen to what he wants to tell us.
Felix: I started getting' into music by trying out the violin for 10 years, I also took lessons, and if this wasn't enough, I also started playing the trumpet, (just like Johnny, maybe we should start something new in this direction). After those years I picked up the guitar and I totally fell in love with it. I'm getting my musical inspirations from a wide range of awesome musicians, such as: Britney Spears, The Backstreet Boys, Wolfgang Petri, some Swedish guitarists (well, most of them are ;-) ) and also from classical music. And by the way, I can smash my guitar only using my pinky! I do Karate and Kung Fu! Beware! Ah, one more thing, when I'm not on stage and when my guitar is not in my hands, I've a great hobby which thankfully I can share with my drummer Mario: eating, eating and burping till death, damn right!
Got injured in his neck by Kung Fu, but he played at a gig and enjoyed it :D
Jens: Guitar / Backing-Vocals
Johnny: So here we have Jens! Jens is playing rhythm guitar and he is doing the backing vocals. But let him introduce himself.
Jens: I can't really say when I started makin' music, pretty much ever since I can remember. I played the drums for about 8 years, I also did some gigs with a few Top 40 Bands. After some time I picked up the guitar, which I've played for 6 years now. I also acquired some musical experience by singin' in a gospel-choir, that was pretty fun. I'm inspired by many music-genres, I listen to a lot of Blues and Jazz-Stuff, there's really great music out there btw :-). For me, there's no bad music and that's exactly the reason why I couldn't ever imagine a life without making music or being on stage!
Jonas: Bass
Johnny: Let's introduce our little band-diva (every band needs one), it's Jonas, our Rapunzel (a princess, who is closed up in a tower with long long blond hair). When he is not brushing his teeth or combing his hair, he is playing the bass guitar for Soulbound.
Jonas:Well, I started making music when I was 4 years old. I played the flute and the chimes in a group of young children, but somehow my father's guitar seemed much more cooler! I tried it out but I've never gotten really into playing it, it just wasn't the instrument I wanted to play. One lucky day my uncle decided to put a bass-guitar in my room while i was half asleep ( I don't really know if that really matters but that's just how it went ;-) ).
I think I was somewhere about 13 years old at that time. That's how I found the instrument that I really wanted to play. I've never had a teacher but it worked out pretty well and within a couple of years I started to have some major success with my first band "one of those moments". After we split up the local guitar center talked me into getting to know the guys from Soulbound. I love playing gigs with my boys, there's nothing more better than that. I just love seeing the crowd partying in front of us (Circle Pits!!!) and completely loose their mind! I love to move on the stage. Currently the windmill-headbang is my favorite move, just fuckin' awesome! :-) Right now, I just can't wait to get our EP finished, so that all people over the world can enjoy our music! Horns Up!
Mario:Drums
Johnny: Last but not least, the man who keeps us gang of little rascals on stage together is Mario, our drum-machine.
Mario:When I was like 6 years old, I was pestering my parents about drums, so they got me a drum-set. looked for a teacher and started taking lessons. I used to play percussions in my music-school's big band. I had a lot of fun back then, great memories :-)! When I 10 years old, I got my hands on Metallica's Album "Master of Puppets". From then on, I wanted to be Lars Ulrich.
Mario:I quit the big band, looked for a new drum teacher and started doing my thing. I started looking for a band when I was about 15 years old, I started out in a real crappy rehearsing room with a few friends of mine. We've never played any concerts, but from then on I was panting for being in a band. I raked into a local music magazine, where a band called 'Soulbound' was looking for a drummer. And that's how I met your mother! Just kidding ;-)! Of course that's how I met Johnny, Jens, Felix and Jonas, four awesome musicians and of course, meanwhile, four great friends! Besides drumming, I've 3 major hobbies, which I could never live without.
Mario:I love to go to the gym, I love to kill a whole catering-buffet together with Felix and afterwards ask him: "Dude, I'm still hungry, let's get a Pizza" and last but not least: laughing. If something is not even remotely funny, I end up laying on the ground for about half an hour and just laughing myself silly while other people standing around, just looking at each other, thinking: "What the hell is wrong with that guy?" Towards the buffet!
How do you feel about their spirited introductions? :D I guess now you can feel more familiar with Soulbound, right? Well, I’m really looking forward to listen to their upcoming EP “Towards The Sun” and I’ve heard that it’s almost there :D
Check it out their Facebook facebook.com/MusicSoulbound and don’t miss it!

Bleeding Red studio reports on Oct. 2011 – Pt.2
Tuesday 20th
Timo: After a long night I'm heading to Schwäbisch Hall! We've decided to record only in the afternoons, so it is 2p.m. and I am perfectly recovered!
Today some info concerning the equipment we use: As you may see on the pictures, we're not using my gorgeous white Gibson Explorer (for now). For the studio, we've chosen a 25 year old Les Paul, because we achieve an even fatter sound because of the solid body and more sophisticated mechanics. But at least it stays in the (Gibson-) family. We use Marshall tube amps and speakers and to the guitarists among you: We're tuned down half a step and use 11-53 strings – pretty fat ones!
On to business: After completing the new song, we're recording Thoughtcrime, which is one of my eleven favourite songs on the album! ;) We're in a good flow and the verse riff combined with its two-voiced lead creates a sound wall which stunned us! Not so stunned we get during the middle part, in which I record the second voice, first, which appeared to sound very strange (not abstract, just bad) on its own and i get a devastating comment by the producer Roger. Of course, we take it with humour and after laughing our asses off, I suggest to let me record the first voice to it and...Bang! The part kicked ass immediately! That was a pretty interesting experience for both of us! Don't judge a part before it's finished. 8 p.m.: The two songs are finished. On schedule for tomorrow: Nameless!
Wednesday 21st
Timo: First of all a little addendum to yesterday's entry: We've found that even the so-far version of Thoughtcrime has burnt into our heads this night. The mezmerizing effect of its rhythm nearly didn't stop! Is it legal to publish stuff like this? OK, just as we've planned, we're taking care of Tritoxine today (haha). In order to provide you with flexibility in listening to our stuff (it's all about free will), we've chosen to separate the melancholic clean guitar intro into a track of its own. The title „Calm Before the Storm“ comes to my mind immediately because it perfectly fits what happenes during the piece. So we started shredding, did a lot of experimenting and finished an awesome song! Because the intro part contains only clean and solo guitars, it will be done on our clean and solo day. That's why we've finished Tritoxine within 3 hours today. New friggin' record!
With kinda struggling, seems Bleeding Red’ recording is running well. Their new album will be out on March 2012!
I’ll have some interview with then soon, so stay tuned!

Bleeding Red studio reports on Sept. 2011
Hell yeah! I’m happy to be a supporter for this kick-ass blackened death metal band Bleeding Red. They are just working hard for their upcoming full-length album and Timo the singer/guitarist from the band brought me those impressive studio reports from Studio 141. Here we go!
Wednesday 7th
Timo: After numerous sessions recording the rough versions of our songs at Michael's house it had finally begun: I went to Studio 141 to transfer our 60 minutes of mixes to Roger Grüninger's system. I felt at home again in the studio immediately – just like it was two years ago when we recorded the demo. After 6 hours of analyzing the stuff it became clear that the album is going to kick ass!
One last question for this day was to be cleared: What about the song that hasn't got lyrics yet? Are we gonna record it at all and hope that I'm gonna write something good enough in the short time left? So I showed the instrumental version to Roger and he was stunned – of course the song has to make it to the album! So our mission is to write some fuckin' good lyrics for it while producing the rest of the songs! Oh yeah!
Monday 12th
Timo: Not knowing what we were going to do today I drove to the studio. I took some new strings and stuff with me but the plan had been something else: We decided to edit the songs beforehand, so we won't spend much effort to record parts which wouldn't stay in the song, anyway. (Note: Yes, sometimes, the songs contain parts which have to be kick- ed out in order to enhance the song. This happens to the most experienced bands ;)).
Although I was already used to this part of the recordings, once again it sometimes hurt and I almost got dizzy watching our producer Roger experimenting around with (major) parts of the songs! All I could think of during most of the time was „Damn, I need some beer!“. But after working together for another 6 hours on two songs (Frequencies + Goddess of Black) and after Michael had joined, too, we found ourselves a great way of combining the three opinions to songs that will – again – kick ass!
Monday 19th
Timo: After a week of editing the song structures and drums, the guitar recordings finally began today! I had chosen the newest song (the one without lyrics) to start with, in order to already manifest it! This means, I have to work on the lyrics. Damn, I need pressure in order to work best. But that's how it is! So after setting up the guitar and the right amp, we found out that the distortion pedal needed a new battery.
No problem, I'll just quickly get a new one. Big mistake! After i drove to a little photo shop in town, I came back with the battery, installed it, set it all up and: No sound. Did i fuck up the pedal now?? No, but the fuckin' battery was empty! „What?? I had just bought it. Ok, just keep cool, drive to the shop again, get another one.“ He took back the battery, tested it – empty. A packed battery, fuckin' empty...So can I just get another one? Of course not, it was his last one. Got the money back and had to drive to a further away supermarket with a long queue of people at the end. „Man, this shit has to stop!“.....Soooo after a stressful time I finally recorded a good 2/3 of the song and left the studio at about ten. On my ride home – it was dark and lonely – I also got a rough idea for the still missing lyrics. Let's see!
Sounds tough about their recording stuff but every recording is just like that kinda hard task, huh? *grin*
Okay, to be continued in my next blog!

TASTE OF EXTREME METAL - “A Hundred Miles” Legacy Of Vydar
Finally, the first full-length album “A Hundred Miles” will be out very soon! I’ve been waited for a long time for this epic 6 pieces of metal warriors Legacy Of Vydar’s new stuff and the time has come! I am glad to show you the title tune “A Hundred Miles” on my blog, so check it out with the short interview with
Daniel and Flo ;)
Legacy Of Vydar “A Hundred Miles”

Q1: Could you give me the release information of the full-length album "A Hundred Miles"?
Daniel: Our Album "A Hundred Miles" will be released on the 16th of October. It has been a very long time until we got it finished. Exactly one year ago we started the recordings for the new Album at the 16th of October 2010. So we wanted the release date to be the 16th of October 2011. Within this year we worked as hard as we could to let our first Album sound as perfect as it can be. And the result is awesome. With Hendrik from Syranic as the producer and Benni from Parasite inc. which did the mastering we had an incredible and very talented team. Every song is an epic masterpiece. So be prepared for the 16th of October !
Q2: I would love to introduce the awesome song "A Hundred Miles" from the album to metalheads all over the world, so, do you have any description about this song?
Flo: A Hundred Miles is the title track of our new album because it, probably, is the most typical LoV song on it. Referring to the music we used the full range of styles that we stand for. There are Viking, melodic death and some slightly Metalcore-touched elements that we combined. On the story: At the beginning of the song there is a Viking guy who is, obviously, dying and at the same time remembering what has led him to this miserable situation. By that time he has realized that what was taught to him by self-made religious or political leaders has been wrong and that his drive for heroic doings was used for their evil intentions. Seeing his own dying reflection in the ice of a frozen lake it becomes clear that not these manipulators but instead he has to pay this with his life. Like always, there is a deeper meaning: Don't let yourself be blinded by whatever whoever is telling you - instead always use your own brain for what it was given to you.
Q3: How is your plan after releasing the album? Will you have some tour with the album?
Daniel: After one year full of recording sessions we can't wait to get back on the stage again ! We're full of passion and prepared an awesome new show for our fans all over the world. We will play many gigs and festivals here in Germany, but without a producer we can't play in Tokio, Sao Paulo or Guadalajara as our fans wished. So you still have to wait some time until we can get there and set the world on fire. But with everyone of you which helps us spreading the word and tells his friends about Legacy Of Vydar we're getting closer and closer to play gigs for all of you guys. So spread the word and stay tuned for the 16th of October !
If you have ever heard of the EP ”Face To Face”, you could noticed how they got a huge growing and evolved more epic and muscular with this new stuff. We won’t be able to keep our eyes off their upcoming activity!

Summer Breeze Open Air 2011 report by Kai from Parasite Inc. – Day 4
I present Summer Breeze Open Air 2011 the final day blog by Kai from Parasite Inc.! Here we go!
Summer Breeze Open Air 2011 Day4 – The final day:
Kai: What a final hot evening and it started with a lot of fire fountains at As I Lay Dying.
A lot of flames at As I Lay Dying
Kai: Seems they have a proclivity for it: Fire fountains at "Within Destruction" and at "An Ocean between us" and.... at every song they played including a lot of crowd-surfers and the biggest WOD this year - plain unbeatable. Their show made me really forget about that I have missed Benighted in the afternoon... shame on me. I should have more Ipanemas xD.
Kai: Well, next one was a band I have seen last time in 2004 together with In Flames and Devildriver: Caliban... turned myself around 180 degrees and enjoyed another great show.
Kai: Anyway I had to leave them earlier coz I also wanted to see Obscura that played unfortunately at the same time... awesome German Technical Death Metal and amazing playing skills but the vocals were so loud that I felt my ears started bleeding and I had to leave the party tent after 2 songs. Met with Basti again and btw: Anyobody hungry to pretzel?
view to the party tent and the metal market
Kai: I decided to have another walk through the metal market while listening to Tarja from the far and prepared for my last band I wanted to see: TYR.
the party tent under under a beautiful sunset
passed the entrance controls to the stage area
Kai: I thought Turisas made a party? TYR overcome.... the whole tent was going straight and sang to every of their songs. Great show even I am not really familiar with their music ;).
Kai: Finally I had a last walk over the camping-site with the far thunder of Hatebreed at the Main Stage and it looked like every year then: Destroyed people and destroyed camping-site : Summer Breeze 2011 another Metal Blast... see you next year again!
a great metal festival ends again
Basti (l.) was working at Summer Breeze 2011 and took some great photos of Arch Enemy. Kai (r.) stayed in the front of the metal-battle-field 4 days in a row and brought me an awesome live reports
the evidence of an entry into the
battle-field of Summer Breeze 2011
How did you feel about those live reports from Summer Breeze 2011 4days?
I would love to say thanks so much to Kai who brought me his great experience there, and to Basti who took some amazing photos of Arch Enemy while he’s working there, Benni stayed at the camping-site and enjoyed whole festival, and Kevin who became a new-member of Parasite Inc. played his final show with Hackneyed, those great guys may be more active in their brighter future with gigs and maybe a new album in 2012???
I have much expectation for their upcoming activity ! Stay metal and keep it brutal!!!

Summer Breeze Open Air 2011 report by Kai from Parasite Inc. – Day 3
This round of the blog for Summer Breeze Open Air 2011 again! Kai the singer and the lead guitarist from Parasite Inc. reported the day 3 which slowly started breakdown, haha … Here we go!
Summer Breeze Open Air 2011 - Day 3:
Kai: Day 3 of Summer Breeze started with the Finnish Melo Deathers Kalmah.
day 3 starts with the melodic death metal from Kalmah
Kai: What can I say?... Really great show with awesome sound but... why the hell did they quit over 5 minutes earlier? Sucked... However, it was horrible hot and even a heavy thunderstorm in the morning did not cool down only changed the stage area and the camping-site into a muddy battlefield.
after a heavy thunderstorm in the morning
most of the area turned to a muddy battlefield
Kai: I had some more Ipanemas again (no I am not addicted!) at a shady place while hang out and watched at the people on the area. 3rd day and the smell of 33000 metalheads is kinda somewhere between piss, beer and sweat... and more and more drunken bodies adorned the whole area.
some tents and pavillons were also blown away...
Kai: I took position at the tower to see the people going crazy at Turisas.
every band is filmed and shown on several screens around the stages
Kai: At the Boney M. cover "Rasputin" even the people in the rear area where dancing. That was truly a battle metal show ;)
Kai: For bridging to Amorphis I had another Ipanema (okay, I am addicted :p) while listening to Bolt Thrower. Songs like "No Guts, No Glory" or "The Killchain" rolled heavy over the area . British Death Metal at its best, yeah!
have a closer look to the Nuclear Blast stand
hot dog before Amorphis starts playing
Kai: At Amorphis there were too many people to get closer to them, but they had best sound and lightshow so far today that ended after 1 hour with "House Of Sleep".
Amorphis' impressive Lightshow
Kai: Only Hammerfall was better with the sound and set the people hearts on fire with playing most of their hits - really enjoyable and without a cheesy stage decoration :P.
Finish day 3 with enjoing the show of Hammerfall
Kai: After their show I wanted to switch over to Kataklysm... I wanted but I gave it up... they had the worst sound on the festival and it made no fun to listen to them. I left the 20 years Kataklysm birthday party with a sad eye but a lot of Ipanemas inside me.
Okay, the next blog will be the final day of Summer Breeze 2011.

Summer Breeze Open Air 2011 report by Kai from Parasite Inc. – Day 2
This blog follows the previous one - Summer Breeze Open Air 2011 by Kai from Parasite Inc., he told me about the second day of the festival with the main stage which was finally opened this time…
Summer Breeze Open Air 2011 - Day 2:
Kai: Arrived at the venue in the afternoon and missed The Sorrow. Well done Kai... urgh. After got stuck in a traffic jam I reached the main stage right in time for The Haunted.
whole stage area is opened at 2nd day
my first band today: The Haunted
Kai: Really hot day and I watched them from a shady place a bit farer while having a cocktail called Ipanema (tasty drink somehow). Oh, and btw. for you Japanese readers:
Peter (singer) said that they want to come to Japan in December this year after the cancellation of their show in May. So prepare for The Haunted in December 2011 ;)
Kai: Well, it was horrible hot and I decided to get back to the tents of some friends and take a rest there. Only relaxed in a chair and watched them doing silly things like painting each others with water resistant pens or building weird puppets... the niveau was already dead... right...
I had already seen 3 naked people running around and people in weird costumes and all people went slowly crazy.
4 days metal chaos... first victim is the "niveau"
For those of you who don't know about the word "Niveau": Niveau is a France word and means in German a kind of intelligent level respectively mental level.
walking through the metal market
the party tent by day
a lot of metal stuff there
sun goes down again after a second hot day
Kai: Went back to the stage area at 8.00 p.m.. I quickly met with Basti at the merchandise stand.
met Basti at the merchandise stand
Kai: He has been working on Summer Breeze this year and got access to the stages. So I gave him my cam for making some pics of my next band: Arch Enemy.
guess which band is playing in a few minutes
the area gets more filled with thousands of metalheads
Kai: The whole area around the main stage was crowded with people for the first time now and for me it was the best band on the festival this year... Amazing sound, playing and choice of songs. Very impressive: Steam fountains to the deep sounds of "My Apocalypse".
impressive stage view to the audience
Kai: After having a short look to the reduced lineup (only 4 members left?) of Sonic Syndicate I only walked through the metal market until the Death Metal guys from Hackneyed started their show.
walked again through the metal market
EMP is one of the biggest merchandise seller in germany for metal music
Kai: Phil (singer) screamed like the devil in person and they really did a great show. If you like Death Metal with deep guttural growls you should check them out ;).
our friends from hackneyed destroying the party tent
That is about all of the second day of Summer Breeze 2011 with a lot of photos. Thanks so much for Kai again! It’s totally amazing and funny about the personalized and hanged “Niveau”, German metalheads have such a sense of humor, haha! Actually, I got a lot of amazing photos of Arch Enemy by Basti but I have to concern about the image rights and couldn’t put it on the blog, sorry.

Summer Breeze Open Air 2011 report by Kai from Parasite Inc. – Day 1
I’m totally happy to release this blog - the report of Summer Breeze Open Air 2011 by Kai from Parasite Inc.! He brought me a lot of photos and reports of the kick-as metal festival, so I divided in 4 and will present each day separately. Okay, let’s start with the first day without the main stage… Here we go!
Kai: Hi my Japanese metal brothers and sisters, have you ever heard about the "Summer Breeze Festival"? It's the second biggest Festival in Germany beside Wacken and it's every year in the South of Germany in a small village called "Dinkelsbühl". Last year on stage with Parasite Inc. and this year as a metalhead I went there once again and if you like to have a small insight to how I have experienced the festival you should continue reading. :) 4 days with 90 bands on 4 stages and 33000 people... alright Summer Breeze... here we go.
Summer Breeze Open Air 2011 - Day 1:
Kai: I reached the venue in the evening and after I got my festival bracelet I walked over camping-site to have a lookout to some friends.
first look at arriving the camping-site
Kai: Many people were still build up their tents, made barbeque or only were already drunk... my friends belonged to the latter btw.
Kai: You maybe should know that most of the people that go to a metal festival here celebrate it with a lot of alcoholic drinks, a lot of crazy actions and all within a mostly relaxed and familiar coincidence.
a short watch to the sky until i go to see Scar Symmetry
Kai: Well, first thought when I talked to some of my friends: Being not drunk on a metal festival sucks... I am too dry to understand what they are saying or doing (lol). However, after a small weird conversation I moved on to the stages.
the inner entrance to the stage area with the party tent in the background
sun goes slowly down and I can't await to see my first
band the area get's slowly filled with more people
Kai: First band for me and first time I have ever seen them: Scar Symmetry. Great sound and awesome guitar solos... I was happy that they only played 2 songs of their new album. Like their old stuff more. Anyway a great show that ended with my favorite song "The Illusionist".
First band I am watching: Scar Symmetry
Kai: Second band was Destruction: Finest German Thrash Metal and the people slowly got warm... but not my type of music and I only waited for Vader. With the first sounds of "the imperial march" intro the tent was already totally crowded with people and Vader made really no prisoners: 1 hour of helicopter banging to their songs + Slayers Reign in Blood as a bonus... what a blast.
A look to the Camel Stage. Mostly there
play small bands and celebrate fun music
Kai: While "Hell" was playing something that I would describe as really really old-school I came across to Basti and Benni and we only walked around the area of the party tent and talked about upcoming days and bands.
Kai: 2.20 a.m. and the tent was only half filled at "Sylosis"...and I asked myself: why? I never have seen or heard of them before respectively known any songs but they had a killer sound to killer songs... too bad that they played only 40 minutes.
Enjoing Sylosis kick ass metal
The report of Summer Breeze 2011 the day 1 by Parasite Inc./Kai is over now. On the first day, most of the people spent the time to build their tent and to enjoy the BBQ, and then gigs started slowly in the evening without the main stage but there were some sweet bands like Scar Symmetry, Sylosis and some more. I started anticipating to the upcoming days!
